Poop is a good indicator of health

※The video has nothing to do with poop.

Polo has been sick several times, but he always brings his poop with him to the veterinary clinic.

When Polo is busking in the sun, he will almost certainly poop while busking, so I put saran wrap under Polo so that he can poop on the saran wrap.

I'm thankful for Saran Wrap because it keeps my poop dry.

Polo's poop location

Polo's cage is filled with rocks, lava rocks, and wooden objects. I'd like to make it stylish, but it's a small cage and I can't do that.

Polo basically poops on rocks. Rocks and sheets are the easiest to clean, so that was helpful, but recently he has been pooping on trees.

I think that Polo poops on the rocks because there is a basking light on the rocks and when we first moved in, all we had were rocks and sheets, so he got into the habit.

It is quite difficult to clean up when Polo poops on trees and lava rocks, so I didn't want him to do it there if possible.

For now, the trees and lava rocks are being cleaned and removed. It will be just rocks and lava again, so I hope Polo can get back into the habit of pooping on rocks.

Polo's Poop Count

※The image shows Polo puking after a meal

Also, Polo's poop frequency varies depending on the season. When I got him in the fall, he pooped once a day. During the cold season, it was once or twice a week. Now that the weather is getting warmer, he does it once a day, and sometimes twice if it's too much.

I try to get rid of poop as quickly as possible, but sometimes when the house is open, I find Polo walking around covered in poop (laughs).

In that case, I'd have him take a shower, clean himself up, and clean out the cage.

I wipe the inside of the cage with alcohol-free wet wipes. I use it to Polo too.

Also, Polo's poop smells pretty bad (laughs), and I use pet garbage bags for the poop.

Polo sometimes has bloody stools and diarrhea, so I have him take lactobacillus at the veterinary clinic on a regular basis. It is difficult to keep him hydrated because he will get dehydrated if he doesn't drink enough water, and he will get diarrhea if he drinks too much.

Anyway, Polo is the one who gets taken to the doctor when he feels that his poop keeps getting worse.
