Polo's basking light was changed
I stopped using UV basking light because of Polo's Poor body conditioning
I bought new bought a new basking light for Polo which irradiates with a little UV. The reason I bought it is for the Polo's health. I have heard sometimes UV injure animals' eyes, and Polo was damaged his eyes and closed them at that time. There are also some basking lights that sometimes affect individuals.
It doesn't mean that "this basking light from that manufacturer is no good! It's not that "this particular basking light is no good", it's just that some other basking lights are fine, but you happen to hit one of them. ※Info from internet
I don't know for sure why Polo damaged his eyes. It could have been dust, a bump, or any number of other reasons. But he's hurt then, at least he can say, I thought "UV is not good for him now".
Most importantly, Polo didn't want to go the busking spot at all. This was unusual because he used to spend most of his time at the busking spot.
For these reasons, I changed a basking light that does not emit much UV light. The following are the basking lights that I replaced at that time.
New basking light
The minimum requirement when choosing a light is that it should fit into the light dome. On top of that, since it was winter at the time, I wanted a light that was designed to keep the cage warm.
There were various lights available and they all looked good, but I decided to try this one because its double-layered structure and other features for creating hot spots looked very good.
Polo changes and vitamin production after changing the light
After changing the light, I noticed a change in Polo's movements.
Up to that point, he had been spending most of the day in the trees, but occasionally he would go to a basking spot.
He's starting to warm up a little more often. This is a good trend. After a while, Polo's eyes started to heal and he was able to open his eyelids, which had been closed for a long time.
However, this is not to say that they were not exposed to any UV during this time. We had him sunbathing frequently. Polo was strangely calm while he was busking in the sunlight. I work at a company, so my family helped me out on weekdays. My heartfelt thanks to them.
After he opened his eyes, Polo was quiet for a while, but he started to regain his energy little by little. It was probably because of the cold season.
Returning the basking lights that emit UV light
After Polo got recovered. I decided to change the basking light back to one that emits UV.
But if he stopped opening their eyes again, or if the polo escaped from basking spot, I decided to put them back.
The manufacturer of the light was ZOOMED, the same company as mentioned above.
I think I can say that the results of the change have been very good so far. Polo is now almost only in the busking spot.

From the time he wake up to the time he go to bed, he's often at his busking spot. He used to sleep in a cave or on a tree, but lately he's been falling asleep while busking.
I think I will use the current basking light for long time.
